On the eight P...Looks like you made good progress! On the eight POV characters, I had a similar situation in the first draft of the book I'm currently rewriting -- I had four. Which wasn't bad, but in the first book of the series, I had 3 POVs and wanted to keep that consistent from book to book. So now I have 3, but it hurt to take out the extra one!
